CMA - Open House Invitation
When CMA Design moved into their studios on Dunlavy Street, they expected a notable invitation to mark the occasion. The choice to print on plexiglass came from new architectural materials introduced in the building's renovation such as glass block and windows inset in interior walls. The grid system used to organize the design elements was also inspired by the unusual combination of regular and angled negative spaces outlined by the architect. The inks, whose colors followed the building's palette, were printed on both sides of the plexi, making use of its thickness to give the illusion of "floating" type and playfully interacting vignettes. A favorite at the firm, this design was also featured in an issue of Design USA.
